AHFA finances the construction and preservation of affordable rental housing across Alabama. AHFA does not directly administer any assistance to consumers or accept applications for housing.


What affordable rental housing is available in my area?


AHFA has compiled a county-by-county listing of all projects receiving HOME and/or Housing Credit funding. Please note that AHFA does not own or manage rental properties. To apply, please contact the apartment's management directly.



How do I apply for housing in my area?


AHFA does not own or manage any multifamily rental housing. Each housing development AHFA finances has an independent owner and housing manager that accepts applications for housing and screens tenants. Please contact the apartment's management directly for more information.


Is AHFA the public housing authority?


No. If you are seeking rental assistance, please contact the Alabama Association of Housing and Redevelopment Authorities to find your local public housing authority.

How do I report a problem at my apartment complex?
